Events
Art Deco weekend in February has hundreds of vintage cars during a street party in which locals and visitors dress up in 1930's period costume to enjoy the festivities. In March the Horse of the Year is the southern hemisphere's premiere equestrian event.
In June and November, the Food and Wine Classic (F.A.W.C) is a gourmets delight.

Food & Wine
For the gourmets among us it's hard to find a more exciting place than our sunny province. From the world renowned wineries, top class restaurants and events, to biking a wine trail, to the relaxed outdoor cafe culture, there is more to explore than you can fit into a week of indulgence.

Active Holiday
Our warm, dry and sunny climate allows for many outdoor activities. Book a balloon flight, paraglide from Te Mata Peak, cycle the extensive and award winning new iWay network or mountain bike Te Mata Peak. We have a variety of bikes and two kayaks for guest use. There's hiking on the Peak too, but perhaps you prefer a lovely beach walk or sunbathing.

Culture
The twin cities of Hastings and Napier preserve an architectural heritage unique in the world, while many wineries showcase contemporary architecture. Both cities have good public art galleries and good quality art is for sale in several private galleries. Visit local artists' studios on the well documented Art Trail. A show or concert at the Hawke's Bay Opera House in Hastings or Napier Municipal Theatre would be a real treat.

Sights
Visit the Gannet colony on Cape Kidnappers, climb or drive to the summit of Te Mata Peak for fabulous views of The Bay and distant mountains, explore the cities or sunbathe on a beautiful beach. A great way to enjoy the countryside is to cycle the Hawke's Bay Trails - and we have free bikes for your use!
